Ghana’s dancehall vocalist, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., widely known as Shatta Wale, has expressed that the achievements of Nigerian musicians have far surpassed those of their Ghanaian counterparts.
He compared the Ghanaian music industry to a “feeding bottle” in contrast to the Nigerian music industry, which he likened to a “Hennessy bottle.”
Shatta Wale conveyed this sentiment as he extended his congratulations to the emerging Nigerian artist, Asake, who recently achieved a sold-out event at the prestigious O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
Taking to his Twitter account, he shared: “The accomplishments of Nigerian artists are making the Ghanaian music scene seem akin to a feeding bottle when compared to the opulence of a Hennessy bottle. Heartfelt congratulations to Asake! Incredible stuff!!!
“The velocity at which you folks are progressing is truly remarkable… Incredible!
“By the way, there are some individuals in Ghana who inquire about the secret behind their success.
“My Response: When we cease passing judgment on others as if we are infallible, then perhaps we can uncover the winning formula.
“Nigeria is experiencing a colossal triumph!!! My fellow citizens.”
