He went on to reveal an interesting choice he made in his career. In 2019, someone from his team suggested that they meet with Davido in Lagos, but Odumodublvck declined the idea, believing that Davido’s afrobeats-focused audience might not fully understand his hip-hop style.

Instead, he chose to align himself with UK grime stars like Teezee, BOJ, and Sholz, whose genre and vision closely matched his own.

Odumodublvck explained his rationale, saying, “I was like, I don’t need Davido for anything now. Let me follow people that align with my vision.”

He also emphasized the lack of respect for hip-hop in Nigeria, noting that they didn’t even have seats at an award show. In his view, the genre doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves.
