Kunle Afolayan Discusses Daughter’s Role in Anikulapo

In a report by TSZ Naija last year, Kunle Afolayan shed light on why he cast his daughter, Eyiyemi Afolayan, in the role of Princess Omowunmi in his latest film, Anikulapo.

Sharing a short video clip of himself and his daughter on his verified Instagram account, Afolayan explained that the role called for someone beautiful, and his daughter perfectly fit the description. He also praised her singing talent and natural acting skills.

Eyiyemi, Afolayan’s eldest child, made her acting debut in Anikulapo.

Afolayan expressed his satisfaction, saying, “It felt good because I did not have to pay her, even though I was paying her directly or indirectly.”

When asked about her portrayal of Princess Omowunmi, Eyiyemi described the character as “foolish” due to her misguided feelings for Saro, despite his lack of romantic interest. She acknowledged the character’s beauty but also pointed out her gullibility.
