The 52-year-old actress revealed that she and the actor Will Smith have been leaving “completely separate lives” since 2016, shedding light on this significant development in a clip from her upcoming NBC News primetime special with Hoda Kotb.

Although they are not legally divorced, Pinkett Smith clarified that they have, in fact, been living apart for seven years.
She emphasized that while they had not made their separation public until now, it was effectively a divorce in all but name.
In their journey, Pinkett and Smith, who married in 1997, are parents to two children, a son named Jaden and a daughter named Willow.
The public became aware of the challenges in their marriage in July 2020 when singer August Alsina disclosed that he had been romantically involved with Jada Pinkett Smith.
