Nollywood has lost another known artist, Sam Obiago, better known as Daddy Sam, has reportedly passed on after suffering stroke.
Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, confirmed the death on Thursday via his official Instagram page.
‘Another sad day,’ Rollas wrote. Daddy Sam, rest in peace.”
Further commenting on Obiago’s death, Abubakar Yakubu, national secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), said the late actor died after a stroke battle.

Rollas wrote, “He had a stroke some few months back and was recuperating; only for us to hear that he passed away at about 2 am today. We’ve visited the family in Asaba. The chairman of AGN there is still discussing with them.“
Sam Obiago began acting in Nollywood films in 2013 and has since risen to become one of the country’s leading actors.
He appeared in numerous Nollywood films, including ‘Gifted,’ ‘Tears Of A King,’ ‘Woman Of Fire,’ ‘Ghana Island,’ ‘Royal Turning Point,’ ‘Royal Appointment,’ ‘Bargain,’ ‘Combined Forces,’ ‘Altar Of Love,’ and ‘Wishes.’
‘Throne Of Fire,’ ‘Ancient Key,’ ‘Wicked Tradition,’ ‘Tortured Heart,’ ‘Royal Wreck,’ ‘The King’s Decision,’ ‘Blood Brothers,’ ‘The Orbit,’ ‘Strength Of Womanhood,’ ‘Battle Of Kings,’ and Royal Headache are among the others.
He will be deeply missed by family and fans.
