Tiwa Savage, Nigerian female singer, has revealed how nerves almost affected her performance at the coronation of King Charles III of Britain.
In March 2023, Tiwa Savage made history as the first Nigerian artist to perform at a British royal event, captivating guests at King Charles III’s coronation concert and Big Lunch.

During a recent interview on Good Morning Britain TV Show, the ‘Somebody’s Son’ crooner expressed her delight in performing for the king and the honor of representing the Commonwealth on stage.
Tiwa Savage, also known as the ‘Queen of Afrobeats’, confessed that she experienced nervousness in the initial moments of her performance at Windsor Castle. However, once she started singing, she was able to overcome her nerves and immerse herself in the crowd’s energy.
Reflecting on her experience, she said, “It was beautiful [to perform for the King]. It was such an amazing moment to represent the Commonwealth and to be on that stage. I was nervous, I will say the first few seconds. But as soon as I started singing, I said, ‘I have to just get swept away by the crowd.'”
Meanwhile, entertainment executive and talent manager, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TeeBillz, publicly praised his ex-wife and talented singer, Tiwa Savage, for paving the way for other female artists in the Nigerian music industry.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, TeeBillz acknowledged that without Tiwa Savage and his efforts, no other female artist would have had the same opportunities.
While acknowledging that people may debate this statement, TeeBillz firmly declared Tiwa Savage as the ‘GOAT’ (Greatest Of All Times).
