Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha, aka Real Warri Pikin, reveals that her struggle with suicidal thoughts propelled her towards a career in comedy.
She expressed that her decision was driven by the desire to inspire others who were facing similar challenges.
Real Warri Pikin previously revealed that she had contemplated suicide multiple times between 2017 and 2018 due to a debt she and her husband, Ikechukwu, owed.
During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the mother of three explained that venturing into comedy helped her recover from the emotional distress.
She clarified that the videos she made during that period were not solely for entertainment, but also to motivate individuals facing financial burdens.
Real Warri Pikin stated, “The videos I created at that time were not just meant to make people laugh, but to motivate them. I wanted to convey the message that even if you’re in debt, don’t worry, even the Federal government owes debts.
Don’t despair and harm yourself. Take one step at a time. Problems are inevitable.”
She further mentioned that sharing her experiences helped her in her own healing process and allowed her to encourage others. Despite not having fully settled her debt at the time, she candidly expressed her emotions through her videos.
Real Warri Pikin believes that her difficult journey might have been intended by a higher power so that she could be in a position to make a positive impact.
She added that she has received numerous testimonials from individuals who credited her motivational talks with preventing them from contemplating suicide.
