Khaid, the sensational singer also known as Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, has candidly disclosed the reasons behind his conversion from Islam to Christianity.
At just 19 years of age, Khaid revealed that his religious journey was influenced by his mixed religious background.

Born to a Muslim father and a Christian mother, his formative years were shaped by a dual exposure to both Islam and Christianity.
In a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, Khaid shared his personal experience, stating, “I was a Muslim before because my dad was a Muslim and my mum was a Christian. So, I just felt the connection to Christianity more.”
The young artist went on to explain that, from an early age, he harbored a dislike for attending the mosque, expressing that his father had compelled him to go when he was younger.
He elaborated on his upbringing, saying, “Right from the beginning, I didn’t like going to the mosque actually. My dad forced me. But my parents were free-minded people.”
He continued, “They told my siblings and I that we can choose any religion we want. But we live among Muslims, and my dad didn’t want it to seem like he didn’t have control over his children, so he used to force me to go to the mosque.”
Khaid admitted that, during that period, he went to the mosque to please his father. However, over time, he made a personal decision to switch to attending church services.

He clarified, “At that time, I was trying to please him, so I was going to the mosque. But after some time, I switched and started going to church.”
Khaid’s unique religious journey is a reflection of the diverse backgrounds and personal choices that individuals make in matters of faith. In his family, while his elder sister and younger brother adhered to Islam, he and the remaining five siblings embraced Christianity.
