Chinwetalu Agu, a seasoned figure in the Nollywood industry, has recounted a significant episode where he declined a N10 million offer from billionaire business magnate Mike Adenuga to partake in a film role.
Agu revealed that at the time of the offer, he had not yet earned N1 million from his acting career, but he firmly insisted on receiving N20 million for his involvement.
The veteran actor disclosed this intriguing anecdote during a conversation with the renowned media personality Chude Jideonwo.
Agu shared, “Chief Mike Adenuga said, ‘I’m offering you N10 million for this contract.’ Even though I had never seen N1 million before, I refused and countered, ‘If it’s not N20 million, then let’s forget about it.’”
He went on to describe how he maintained his resolve, and his insistence prompted Adenuga to reconsider. Agu playfully revealed that to emphasize his seriousness, he pretended to rise from his seat and threatened to leave the negotiation altogether.
Agu continued, recounting the turning point, “They realized I was serious when I stood up. Chief Mike Adenuga instructed me to sit down and directed his team to bring the necessary documents for signing.
I signed, and from that moment, the celebration commenced. I handled the situation diplomatically in the office, concealing my astonishment at the N20 million offer. It was a truly incredible moment for me at that time.”
