Tacha, a former Big Brother Naija contestant, has voiced her displeasure with the 2023 Headies Awards organizers for holding the ceremony in the US for a second straight year.
Tacha, a Port-Harcourt native, shared her views in a video posted on social media. She acknowledged that it made sense for the Headies to be held in the United States last year when Afrobeats was gaining international recognition.

However, she found it disrespectful that the award ceremony was still being held in the United States.
Drawing a comparison with the BET Awards, Tacha pointed out that the BET Awards would never be hosted anywhere outside Africa, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and celebrating African talent on the continent.
Tacha also recalled past instances when African artists received their award plaques backstage at the BET Awards.
