Religion Caused My Failed Marriage – Stella Damasus

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus, has candidly shared about her “biggest mistake” in life, revealing that she was forced into marrying her best friend, who was also the choir director at a church where she sang in the choir.

In a recent interview with renowned media personality Teju Babyface, Stella recounted her past relationship.

She admitted that before her ex-husband, there was someone else whom she married, but the marriage only lasted for eight months. She considered it a significant mistake in her life.

According to Stella, she and her ex-husband were excellent friends, but they were not meant to be a couple. The pressure of religion played a role in their decision to marry, despite the fact that they were better off as friends. As a result, their marriage did not work out, and they both realized it.

She stated, “But he was my friend, my best friend. And religion is what caused that problem that made us marry when we were not supposed to be married.

We were supposed to be very good friends because as my friend, he was awesome. But as a married couple, we didn’t work. We just messed it up. And we knew it.”

Despite the unfortunate outcome of their marriage, Stella and her ex-husband decided to part ways amicably and maintain respect for each other. They chose not to discuss their failed marriage publicly but instead, focus on maintaining a friendly relationship and mutual care for one another.
