Following the tragic death of rapper Mohbad, Oxlade shared a screenshot of his conversation with the late rapper while paying tribute to him. However, the DM showed that Mohbad’s account was restricted.

In response to the backlash he received, Oxlade clarified his action on X, stating that he restricted Mohbad’s account to ensure that he personally handled the messages instead of his management team. The singer highlighted that managing his DMs can be challenging, given his status, and having a team that helps with his account is essential for handling important bookings and business conversations.
Therefore, restricting accounts is a way to differentiate private, personal messages from close friends.
