Nigerian singer Skales recently revealed a surprising incident involving Naira Marley and Tanzanian artist Harmonize during his participation in the audiovisual podcast edition of Doyin’s Corner.
Skales shared that Harmonize, a prominent artist from East Africa, was in Nigeria working on his album when Skales introduced him to Naira Marley.
They had a friendly and positive interaction, and afterward, Harmonize asked Skales to feature on a song that also included Naira Marley.
Excited about the collaboration, Skales recorded his verse and sent it to Harmonize, who seemed pleased with it. However, a few weeks later, Harmonize contacted Skales with shocking news.
He informed Skales that Naira Marley had asked him to remove Skales’ verse from the song, claiming he was unaware that Skales would be involved in the project.
Confused and surprised, Skales denied having any beef with Naira Marley and clarified that they were all on good terms when they met.
Despite this, Skales told Harmonize to go ahead and remove his verse if it would help the Tanzanian artist’s project.
The incident highlights a curious turn of events where Naira Marley allegedly requested Skales’ verse be removed from a collaborative song, despite their initial positive interaction and Skales’ willingness to participate in the project.
