After the passing of Marlian Music artiste Mohbad’s ex-signee, Mr. Joseph Aloba, there had been questions and concerns from fans about the hurried burial arrangements.

In a subsequent interview, Mohbad’s father attributed the urgency to Yoruba culture, explaining that it is customary not to keep the remains of a young child at home when the parents are still alive.
He elaborated further, stating that the reason for choosing a relatively secluded location for the burial was due to the fact that it was the only piece of land he owned.
He emphasized that the decision to bury his son at midnight was made in response to the belief that they should swiftly lay the deceased to rest.
In his words, “Everybody has what they are facing. In Yoruba land, his body is not the type you keep at home because he was young and his parents are alive.
If it was to be an elderly person, we would have kept him in the mortuary for as long as we wanted. In his case, the day we see evil is the day it goes away.

It was at that midnight that I made the decision. I had him buried on that land because that is the only property that I know of, and we had an agreement that I’d use the land to build a church.”
