Actress Kate Henshaw responds to criticism over a photo with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at an event.
The image, which has been circulating online, captured the actress and the governor exchanging pleasantries with smiles on their faces.
The photo has stirred up a buzz on social media, with Kate Henshaw facing backlash from numerous Nigerians. As someone who has frequently criticized the Sanwo-Olu administration online, some netizens deemed it inappropriate for her to extend such a kind gesture to the governor in person.
In response to the criticism, Kate took to her Twitter page to express her lack of concern about people’s opinions regarding the photo.
She stated that Governor Sanwo-Olu is aware of the exchange they had and clarified that engaging in pleasantries with him at a public event will not deter her from speaking out against bad governance.
In her tweet, she wrote, “Clearly, I have gotten your knickers in a twist, and the itch is too much for you to ignore, just like I am too important to ignore.
I won’t bother to explain because it is far above your pay grade. Mr. Gov knows the exchange we had. It won’t stop me from speaking my mind. That’s the difference.”
Kate Henshaw’s response reflects her firm stance on expressing her opinions despite engaging with political figures at public events.
