The long-awaited sequel to ‘Girls Trip’ has arrived. The ladies are off to Ghana this time.
The sequel will feature the original cast, including Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish, according to writer-producer Tracy Oliver.

The filmmaker, who co-wrote the 2017 hit film, made the announcement while promoting the second season of her Amazon Prime Video comedy series, ‘Harlem.’
Speaking to Variety Studio presented by Audible, she said, “It’s officially happening. I can say that… No one else knows this and Will Packer might kill me, but we’re looking to set it in Ghana.”
While the original film depicted the group of friends attending the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Oliver teased that the ladies would be attending Afrochella, Ghana’s largest music festival.

For the time being, a production timeline is unknown because Oliver is still working on her script.
The 2017 R-rated comedy was a worldwide success, grossing $140.9 million. According to Variety, the film’s domestic box office has surpassed $100 million after only four weeks.
