The mother of twins outperformed her previous records for the highest-grossing movie in Nigeria.
According to a tweet by Film One, Funke Akindele’s most recent film, Battle on Buka Street, outperformed her 2020 release, Omo Ghetto The Saga.
Omo Ghetto the Saga came in second with 636 million nairas, while Battle on Buka Street outperformed it with 640 million nairas.
The only rival the actress had, according to Film One on Instagram, was herself.
A benchmark in Nollywood projects by Funke Akindele beats Toyin Abraham.
Additionally, Funke Akindele had outperformed Toyin Abraham, a colleague who had won awards, with a significant Nollywood production.

The money earned by Nollywood producers over the previous years was displayed on a chart made available by Top Charts. With millions of naira in earnings, the chart included artists like Mo Abudu, Ayo Makun, Jade Osiberu, Funke Akindele, and Toyin Abraham.
In the graph, Funke Akindele made nearly N1.33 billion from her movies, while Toyin Abraham made N564 million.
The difference between the two actresses is significant, and it’s not surprising given that Funke is the highest-earning Nollywood actress in Nigeria thanks to the success of her film Battle on Buka Street, which brought in over 640 million naira.
