Amid the speculations, allegations, and emotional responses surrounding the passing of Mohbad, the former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Badmus Opetodolapo, has recalled the heavy criticisms she faced after speaking out against Nigerian musician, Naira Marley.

In 2019, the police officer, known for her active presence on social media, publicly criticized Naira Marley’s lifestyle and his remarks about women’s bodies.

Naira Marley had tweeted, “Having a big booty is better than having a master’s degree,” to which Opetodolapo responded by stating her disagreement and emphasizing the importance of educational or vocational qualifications.

Naira Marley, who was the owner of Marlian Music and had formerly signed Mohbad, responded to her criticism with a derogatory comment, saying, “This Instagram police wants to have sex with me but she is really ugly.”

Following Mohbad’s tragic death, Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, faced severe backlash when documents and videos surfaced online showing them subjecting the late singer to relentless bullying for leaving Marlians Record.
