Charles Chibuezechukwu, popularly known as Crayon, shared a heart-wrenching story of how his family was evicted from their rented home in 2013 due to unpaid rent.
The incident occurred when they were unable to renew the N18,000 rent for their house.
According to the ‘Trench To Triumph’ singer, their church member offered them a place to stay, but they were unaware that she was also in arrears with her rent. The situation worsened when the landlord found out and promptly evicted them from the new place as well.
Crayon’s family found themselves in a dire situation, and their pleas to the landlord were in vain. Witnessing his parents’ distress and helplessness in front of the landlord left a deep impact on the singer, causing him to feel depressed at that young age.
Despite the challenging times, Crayon and his family persevered and overcame the hardship.
Now, he is a successful singer, but he hasn’t forgotten the difficult journey that has shaped him and his family.
In sharing his story, Crayon highlights the importance of resilience and determination in the face of adversity, reminding people that even in the darkest moments, there is hope for a brighter future.
