Renowned American billionaire Bill Gates shared an interesting anecdote during his opening speech at the event ‘Advancing Africa: Unleashing the Power of Youth in Science and Innovation’ in Lagos State.
Gates mentioned that his daughter, Phoebe, expressed excitement about his visit to Nigeria, stating that she would be fortunate to meet Rema and Burna Boy, two popular Nigerian artists.

Gates commended the creativity present in the Nigerian entertainment industry and described the country as lively and trendy, thanks to its abundance of talented individuals. He expressed, “Being here in Nigeria, I can’t help but acknowledge the incredible creativity that thrives here.
Nigerian Afrobeats have gained popularity worldwide. When my daughter Phoebe learned about my visit to Nigeria, she remarked, ‘You’re lucky to see Burna Boy and Rema.'”
