A former Big Brother Naija All-Stars housemate from Nigeria, Doyin, candidly discussed why someone with her personality is unlikely to win the popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, during an interview with Punch Saturday Beats.
She acknowledged that due to the nature of her personality, she had entered the house with no expectations of winning.

Doyin explained, “I won’t lie. A personality like mine cannot win Big Brother. I did not go on the show thinking I was going to win the prize money. I knew that I did not stand a chance because my personality is ‘a lot,’ and people tell me that every day.
I just wanted to go there, be myself, and show who I am. I felt I would be able to stay long enough on the show. Actually, my goal was to get to the finals.”
She also anticipated criticism from the outside world because of her choice of words while in the house.
Furthermore, Doyin clarified that she did not engage in gossip while in the house, contrary to popular belief. She explained that in the absence of television and social media, the housemates’ primary source of entertainment was each other, and the discussions naturally revolved around themselves.
Regarding her relationship with another housemate, Ilebaye, Doyin revealed that they were on the same season in 2022 but were not close.
Their bond developed when they met in the current season’s house because they were both from the same season. However, she mentioned that certain issues affected their relationship in the house, and she hopes to resolve them when they both leave.
Doyin expressed her love for Ilebaye regardless of any disagreements they may have had. She also stated that she does not regret anything she said to any of the housemates.

She pointed out that many housemates had inflated egos and felt special, which contributed to the conflicts within the house. She found it perplexing that some contestants felt disrespected by the way they were spoken to, while they themselves were not always respectful.
In conclusion, Doyin reflected on the dynamics within the Big Brother Naija house and the challenges of living together with individuals of diverse personalities and egos, emphasizing the need for mutual respect among contestants.
