Mr Jollof, comedian, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, once staunchly backed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leader, President Bola Tinubu.

However, he felt betrayed and used by the party, leading him to switch his allegiance to the camp of former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections.

Mr Jollof made this decision after coming across a Bible passage that emphasized the importance of acknowledging and correcting one’s wrongs.

In a video that is currently trending on the internet, Mr Jollof humorously mocked Nigerians about the current hike in fuel prices and the prevailing economic hardships in the country. He claimed that he had warned people to stop supporting the APC after he decamped, but his advice was not taken seriously by many.

Speaking in Pidgin English, Mr Jollof expressed his disappointment with the APC and how he felt used by them. He compared his experience to the biblical parable of the lost son (Luke 15:1-32), where one realizes their mistakes and returns to the right path. Mr Jollof revealed that he went back to Ifeanyi Okowa, who welcomed him with open arms and embraced him.

Mr Jollof playfully highlighted how he had previously supported Tinubu and the APC, but he felt compelled to switch sides due to his dissatisfaction with their actions.

He joked about his outspoken nature and how people criticized him for his candid opinions. Nonetheless, he expressed concern about the current fuel price increase, which affects everyone in the country.
