Emerging Nollywood actress, Esther Nwachukwu, has revealed that her difficult upbringing has led her to yearn for love, a sentiment that has influenced her romantic relationships.
In an interview with Punch, the actress explained that not growing up with her parents and facing maltreatment from relatives affected her perspective on love.

Esther Nwachukwu elaborated on her experience, stating, “I did not grow up with my parents. I grew up with relatives, and I was maltreated, and it has affected my love life. In every relationship I have been involved in, I have always needed more love. I just want to be loved.”
Addressing her alleged romantic involvement with her married colleague Pope Odonwodo, she clarified that they were close friends but criticized him for not being honest.
When asked if she initiated the romantic relationship, she asserted that she doesn’t make advances toward men and explained that Pope Odonwodo is unable to reach out to her due to her blocking him on social media platforms.
Nwachukwu also clarified her previous statement on social media about preferring to date married men over single men, stating that it was meant as a humorous remark rather than a serious preference.
She admitted to having a controversial personality but explained that her upbringing, lacking in love and filled with bitterness, has shaped her behavior.

While Nwachukwu has been using controversy to express herself, she emphasized that her intention isn’t to gain followers on social media.
She acknowledged losing a significant number of Instagram followers due to her controversial nature. However, she indicated that if she becomes financially secure, she might shift away from being controversial.
